(Laurie, I have also noticed the the similar textures and delicate pastels of clouds and Mother of Pearl – but I think this one is more like Abelone shell, which has more vivid colours) ! -

In response to several requests, here is an image of the Saunders Roe SR-53 aircraft. The likeness between the cloud and the aircraft is quite akin!
