We have given the Cloud Appreciation Society website a new layout and design, and are now in testing phase. There will be quite a few bugs, which we will be sorting out over the coming days. We would love to hear in the comments below if you’ve come across anything that seems broken. It will probably take you a little while to get used to where things are now, but we hope the development will be an improvement on the previous design. We hope also that it paves the way for the site to work better on mobile devices.
There is plenty more to do on the Photo Gallery. You can currently filter for cloud types by clicking the menu icon in the top right to reveal the cloud-type filter terms, but the gallery search functionality is still not in place.

Nigel, Mark and Timothy, thank you all for your positive comments. Nigel, yes, there will probably be a few more typos than usual while we are in transition period. Timothy, performance is the next focus. It would, however, be useful to hear of any additional issues that show up with looking at the site on mobile devices. By the way, Mark and Timothy, you can upload profile photos if you want by going to the Forum page and then clicking the menu icon in the top right and selecting your name in the Side Area. This will let you edit your forum profile. Click ‘Profile’ and then ‘Change Profile Photo’ to upload an image. You can choose anything as your profile image.
Very nice to see the significant improvement this brings. If you sort out the performance and mobile device behavior items, I’d say you’ve pretty much nailed it.

Just spent the last hour happily browsing the updated website! Easy to navigate and easy on the eye. One or two grammatical slips/missing words etc which I’m sure someone will correct! I was inspired to upgrade to supporting member – looking forward to the coming web conference and hopefully many more events.

Thanks for the suggestion 65Penny. When we settle down to the less critical tweaks and fixes, I will certainly look at slowing the homepage slider. I agree it is a bit frenetic at the moment.
Great new design. Much more commensurate with showing off clouds. If you’re looking for suggestions, perhaps slow down the slide show a tad and have a gentler transition. Everything else is terrific!
